The South of Iceland offers, on a limited area, a wide variety of wonderful sites and landscapes to discover. This one week tour will allow you to combine the classical areas that must be visited with the opportunity to meet a more confidential Iceland, places located off the beaten track, accessible only in Super Jeep. This circuit can be modified. It can be embellished with many other optional activities such as: snowmobiling, horseback riding, buggy riding, helicopter flights, etc.

Day 1: Reykjavik

We organize your private transfer from the KEF airport to your hotel in Reykjavik. The course takes 40 minutes. After your installation at the hotel, the rest of the day can be devoted to different activities: city sight-seeing and

Day 2: West Iceland and the Golden Circle

We head northwards, to the picturesque Hvalfjordur Fjord, then we visit the splendid Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. We then move towards the second largest glacier in Iceland, the Langjökull. A mountain trail

takes us, through an arid desert, from the glacier to the Thingvellir National Park, where the Parliament of Iceland was founded. It is the location of the tectonic boundary between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. Due to its unique character, the region is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After a walk around the beautiful Thingvellir National Park, we leave to visit Geysir, where you can see numerous hot springs and the famous Geysir, which gave its name to the well-known phenomenon.
This area is where we spend the night, enjoying the peaceful environment for our inner harmony.

We will have an opportunity to see the Northern Lights provided that the sky is clear.

Day 3: Landmannalaugar

This day is very different from the previous one due to the fact that we travel on dirt roads leading to great adventure. We go to the Hjalparfoss waterfall, dominated by the Hekla volcano, and continue our trip

towards Hrauneyjar. At this time of the year, conventional vehicles are restricted from circulation but our Super-Jeep calmly continues its advancement in the snow through the lava fields towards the magnificent Hnausapollur and Ljotipollurpour crater lakes to reach our destination: the Landmannalaugar.

The massif is famous for its unique landscapes, its colors of an incredible beauty and its swimming-perfect natural hot springs. Far from the touristic places, it's the unrevealed wild Iceland ... waiting for you to discover it.

Day 4: Eyjafjallajokull, Snowmobile tour and Black Sand Beaches

Heading South of Eyjafjallajokull!!!
In 2010, this volcano became famous for having disrupted, during its eruption, the entire European air traffic. We pass by the impressive Skogafoss waterfall,

then by the coastal black sandy beaches before arriving at the glacier’s margins to enjoy a snowmobile trip for an hour (optional).

Going eastwards, we discover the Dyrholaey peninsula and the enchanting site of Reynisfjara with its basalt columns and its lava pillars rising from the ocean. You then have the chance to discover the beautiful site of Vik, with its charming church overlooking the ocean. Further, we continue through the largest lava flow of Iceland, the Eldhraun, until we get to our hotel in Kirkjubaejarklaustur.
Accommodation: the Laki Hotel
The hotel is located away from the village and allows, if the conditions are met, to see the Northern Lights.

Optional: a snowmobile tour of one hour on the glacier (17500 ISK per person if 2 share the same skidoo or ISK 22500 per person if each has his own skidoo).

Day 5: Skaftafell National Park and Jokulsarlon Lagoon

We begin the day with the beautiful Skaftafell National Park which offers multiple visiting options such as the Svartifoss waterfall or the Sjonarnipa belvedere.

Then we make a stop at the bottom of the Svinafellsjokull’s glacier tongue where the blue of the ice clashes with the turbid waters of the lake.

We continue the circular road to Fjallsárlón and Jokulsarlon, Iceland's largest proglacial lakes. There, among the thousands blocks of ice drifting towards the ocean, similar to some amazing works of art, you can see the seals swimming or sun-bathing. It is a place of such an impressive beauty that words cannot describe!!

Day 6: Thorsmork Nature Reserve

Today, we go westwards in order to return to Reykjavik. But, the adventure is far from being over, and we will make you discover one of ours favorite places in Iceland: Þórsmörk - the valley of Thor, God of thunder.

Surrounded by 3 glaciers, the Myrdalsjokull, Eyjafjallajokull and Tindfjallajökull, this verdant valley has a very mild local climate with more sunshine hours than the South of Iceland. The steep mountains, the creeks and the wild rivers make Þórsmörk be a favourite visiting place for many Icelanders. Arriving there in a Super Jeep, crossing torrents and ford rivers represents a very entertaining and totally safe part of the trip. Also, from Þórsmörk, the traces of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano’s eruption can be very well seen.

Optionally, it is possible to visit two very interesting museums that are on our itinerary, the Heritage Museum in Skogar and/or the exhibition retracing the 2010 eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull, In Þorvaldseyri.

Day 7: Relax in Reykjavik

You can enjoy this day by relaxing in Reykjavik. All the interesting places are located within a limited area and can be visited on foot: be it the Allgrimskirkja Church, the Harpa, the old port, the Hofdi House, the Solfarid or

Day 8: An adventurous escapade in ATV and relaxation at the Blue Lagoon

This circuit is made possible due to the competence of our guides who have an extended knowledge of their country, being also experienced in off-road driving.

We use highly modified jeeps, which allow us to cross flooded rivers, to reach snow-covered areas or to safely ascend on the glaciers in an extremely comfortable manner. For your safety, we reserve the right to change the tours on account of the weather conditions, the route or the snow.
